JS6 Buying Guides
A clearer path to your next upgrade.
Practical checklists for your own setup or your whole team. Start with the equipment you have, identify what needs to work together, and compare the details before you buy.
01 / Business buying
Buying computer accessories in bulk: an office checklist
Start with roles and devices rather than a quantity alone. A team using several laptop models may need more than one accessory specification. Separate the essentials from preferences before requesting prices.
Build a useful equipment list
- Who is the equipment for? Record the number of users, work locations and any shared desks.
- What devices are already in use? List exact laptop, desktop and display models, including operating systems where relevant.
- What must each item do? Describe required connections, display requirements, audio use or charging needs.
- Which items must match exactly? Include manufacturer part numbers for replacements and mark where alternatives are acceptable.
- Where and when is it needed? Add the delivery ZIP, receiving restrictions and required-by date.

Compare the total, not just the unit price
Review shipping charges, included accessories, availability and the applicable return and warranty information. Check that competing quotes refer to the same model, condition and pack quantity. Ask for any unclear detail before placing the order.
02 / Home & office setup
What should I check before buying a dock or USB hub?
“Works with my laptop” is a starting question. A more useful request explains the exact laptop and everything you want to connect. Use that list to check the manufacturer's compatibility information for the model you are considering.
Write down your connection requirements
- Your laptop's full model name and operating system.
- Each display's model, available inputs and the resolution and refresh rate you want to use.
- Other devices you plan to connect, such as a keyboard, mouse, storage drive, headset or Ethernet cable.
- Whether you want the same accessory to charge the laptop, and the laptop's documented power requirements.
- Which cables and power supply are included with the proposed accessory.
Check the exact model before checkout
Compare the accessory manufacturer's stated host requirements, supported displays and any driver requirements against your device documentation. Do not treat a familiar connector shape or a product photograph as confirmation of every feature you need.
If the documentation is unclear, send JS6 both model numbers and describe your intended setup. For a team purchase, identify the different laptop models so compatibility can be checked for each group.
Explore the current accessories catalog or ask about your setup.
03 / Storage planning
Buying an SSD: start with the system, then compare drives
A capacity target alone does not identify the right drive. Record the computer or server model, then use its documentation to identify the supported storage requirements. Check the exact manufacturer part number on the listing against that information.
Prepare these details
- The exact device or server model and, if available, its service manual.
- The documented storage interface, physical format and installation requirements.
- The capacity you need and what you will store or run on the drive.
- Whether you are replacing an existing drive or adding another one.
- Any required bracket, cable, adapter or other installation component.
Plan the change before ordering
Decide how existing files and software will be handled. Make a backup plan before replacing hardware and confirm who will perform the installation. If you are upgrading business systems, include any downtime constraints in your purchasing plan.
Review the product's condition, package contents and applicable warranty terms. Ask about any missing specification before ordering rather than assuming two similarly named drives have the same requirements.
Compare Samsung SSDs or send us your model and requirements.
Buying for more than one person?
Bring your shortlist, quantities and delivery requirements. We can review your request before you commit to an order.
These are purchasing checklists, not product test reports. Confirm model-specific compatibility and installation requirements with the relevant manufacturer documentation.
